The stimulation of specific points located near or on the surface of the skin, which have the ability to alter various biochemical and physiological conditions in order to achieve the desired effect.
Acupuncture points are areas of designated electrical sensitivity. Inserting needles at these points stimulates various sensory receptors that, in turn, stimulate nerves that transmit impulses to the hypothalamic-pituitary system at the base of the brain.
The use of Moxabustion, which is a Chinese Herb that is put near the body and burned to tonify and rejuvenate internally, can be very beneficial to someone with a cold condition.
Tui Na is a massage method that has many uses including opening the channels to introduce the treatment or relaxing muscles with a strain or sprain.
Cupping which is a technique used to relax the muscles, open the channels near injured areas, release agents through the skin that contribute to disease, such as toxins, damp, & excess fluids. In this method suction cups are placed on various parts of the body, commonly the back, to pull toxins or old blood out of the tissues to the surface and sometimes out the pores to allow nourishment to flow to the area below.

Much like muscle-stem use by many chiropractor's, this is a type of acupuncture that involves hooking up electrodes to the tiny needles and creates a low intensity electrical current stimulation. This elicites a neurological response that changes the physiology and sends a message to pain centers in the brain by cerebral wave. This provides a stronger stimulation than hand manipulation with the needles. it is helpful in many conditions such as metabolism and weight loss, blood circulation, muscle spasms, and overall pain conditions by helping relax muscles and increase blood flow.
